Uncompromising.
Progress does not lie in being consistently successful. Progress sprouts from mistakes, but more importantly, from taking that wrong, learning from it and making it right.
We are all called to be saints. It’s funny how long it has taken me to actually distinctly hear the voice of God. Through all static noise the world produces, I find myself often deafened, but it’s just a matter of being still and opening one’s heart.
We are all called to live holy lives, lives dedicated to love. Uncompromising and unapologetic kinda love. The kind that keeps on giving. The kind of life that the saints lived, and the kind of life that suffers. Perhaps, more than a few of us have loved and have been burnt, but loving isn’t about being requited, loving is about giving, it’s about serving and about being present above and beyond someone’s time of need. I suppose that’s bound to be discouraging to someone, but when you’ve got a purpose bigger than you are, bigger than this earth and bigger than any thought or idea you can possibly conceive, when you’ve got a God who gives, loves and cares more than you ever thought possible, it’ll all be worth it.
The life of a Christian isn’t cracked up to be easy, and the Bible has set this out for everyone from the very beginning. The prophets were subjected to cruel, bordering on inhumane, treatment from the people, and although that may have deterred them a few times, God’s voice always rang through all their fear and hesitation. It’s not a booming, large voice, quite often, it’s a quiet whisper that simply tells you “I am here.” And that reassurance is more than enough to tell you, that in your weakness, God is made strong. The God who makes all things possible, telling you that He’s right beside you. What else do you have to fear?
By no means do I evangelize because I am the epitome of a great Christian. I am a disciple and everyday I struggle to follow Jesus’ way as everything else seems to veer me off course. I evangelize because I can, because I’m privileged to have the right to, I speak on behalf of Christ because it is His gift to all of us. I evangelize because I intend to live my words. I evangelize because I am called to be His servant, and a saint, and so are YOU.
God gave you His son, He gave you His all when He died on that cross for your sins. You’re a Christian, not somewhat of a Christian. Don’t compromise, don’t be lukewarm.
